Description: The high school division is designed to give players a sense of what it is like to train at the college level. Participants will be exposed to coaches from the Northern area who will teach players how to compete at a high lacrosse level, how to compete with the mentality and confidence necessary to be successful at any level, how to play in pressure situations and ultimately, how to reach a higher level of play. We focus on three main goals: 1. Teaching cutting edge lacrosse and competition skills to high school student athletes 2. Give coaches the opportunity to work with the student athletes interested in their school 3. Inspire our campers to think big and LOVE the game! Teams will have the opportunity to work together at camp and be coached by high school/ club coaches at night! Learn from the best teachers in the women’s game. Play with and against the top players in the country. Realize what it takes to be the best at the college level!
The middle school division is designed for the athlete looking to learn the game, enhance her skills and gain a better understanding of small situation and game concepts. We focus not only teaching the basics but taking those to a new level for each player. Be coached by some of the best coaches and players in the game. This division is especially great for those players who love the game, are looking to keep their skills going throughout the summer and are anxious to learn, take risks and have tons of fun! Lots of attention is focused on stickwork, small situations and game settings that encourage teamwork and risk taking!
Staff: The camp staff will include the Brown University Staff, College coaches from UNH, Holy Cross, UConn, UMass, Harvard, Colgate, Navy, Brown University players & more. After March 1, a complete staff list will be available online.
Please note that the Northern Exposure Camp 2011 at Portsmouth Abbey is run for the benefit of the Brown University coaching staff and is not affiliated directly with Brown University.
